Literary Context
This line sits within Bildad’s brief final speech in the dialogue section of Job (chapter 25). Bildad is responding to Job’s extended reflections about God’s power and the puzzles of justice in the world (see Job 23–24). Bildad’s approach is to pull the discussion upward: instead of arguing details of Job’s case, he stresses God’s greatness and humanity’s smallness. Verse 3 is part of that push, using questions meant to end debate rather than invite calculation.
