Literary Context
Psalm 15 is shaped like a question and answer about who belongs in God’s presence: who may live in God’s tent and dwell on God’s holy hill (v.1), followed by a compact list of traits that describe that person’s everyday life (vv.2–5). The list moves from broad character (walking with integrity, speaking truth) to social conduct (not slandering, not harming neighbors) and then to community values (honoring what is honorable, keeping one’s word) before ending with two money-and-courtroom tests (v.5). The final sentence gathers the whole description into a promise of steadiness for the doer.
