Literary Context
Psalm 6 moves from intense distress to sudden confidence. Earlier, the speaker pleads for mercy and describes physical and emotional collapse, then insists he has been heard. The last lines (vv. 8–10) mark the shift: he dismisses “workers of evil” and speaks as though the answer is already secured. Verse 10 completes that movement by portraying the enemies’ outcome, not the speaker’s pain. It functions as the closing resolution to the earlier lament, matching the earlier fear with an opposite end.
