Deuteronomy / Question

Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy says that even if a prophet or dreamer gives a sign and it comes to pass, Israel must not listen if he says, “Let us go after other gods” Deuteronomy 13:1–3. The text describes this as a test of whether Israel loves the LORD with all heart and soul Deuteronomy 13:3. The passage calls for rejecting that prophet’s message and holding to the LORD Deuteronomy 13:4.
1If there arise in the midst of you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give you a sign or a wonder,
2and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;
3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams: for Yahweh your God proves you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4You shall walk after Yahweh your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cleave to him.
