Exodus
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and told him to say, “I AM has sent me to you.” God also identified himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and said this is his name forever. The disclosure is given as the message Moses should take to Israel (Exodus 3:13-15).
13Moses said to God, "Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you;` and they ask me, `What is his name?` What should I tell them?"
14God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM," and he said, "You shall tell the children of Israel this: "I AM has sent me to you."
15God said moreover to Moses, "You shall tell the children of Israel this, `Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.` This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
