Achsah asked her father Caleb for a blessing: springs of water to go with the land she received in the Negeb (Judges 1:14–15). Caleb gave her the upper springs and the lower springs (Judges 1:15).
14It happened, when she came [to him], that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from off her donkey; and Caleb said to her, What would you?
15She said to him, Give me a blessing; for that you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.
