Literary Context
This verse closes the movement that begins with the approach of Solomon’s royal procession in Song of Solomon 3:6 and builds toward a climactic display. The poetry shifts from describing what is seen (the procession and its splendor) to summoning an audience to go out and observe the king himself. The “daughters” function as a chorus-like group repeatedly addressed across the Song, drawing the reader into the scene as a witness. The repeated mention of the wedding “day” gives the ending a ceremonial, time-marked finish.
