Also, these verses give instructions without fully mapping the temple and royal structures, leaving the “king’s house” and “gate of the foundation” somewhat unclear. Finally, the “whoever comes into the house” line (v. 7) is brief, so readers differ on whether it is a temporary emergency rule or a general standing policy.
