Verses 22–23 function like a formal wrap-up: they (1) signal that fuller details exist elsewhere, and (2) close the narrative with death, burial, and transition to the next reign. This closing also keeps the previous episode in view by explicitly linking the burial note to his condition.

Uzziah (also called Azariah in some traditions) belongs to Judah’s monarchy in the 8th century BC, when kingdoms in the region lived under the growing shadow of Assyria.
