By the eighth day they reach the temple porch; they complete sanctifying the house in eight days, finishing on the sixteenth day. They report to King Hezekiah that they have cleansed “all” of Yahweh’s house, including the altar of burnt offering and its vessels, and the table of showbread and its vessels. They add that items discarded during Ahaz’s reign have been prepared and sanctified and are now placed before Yahweh’s altar.
