Habakkuk's watchful waiting models honest dependence after lament: the prophet expects God to answer and is willing to be corrected. The vision has an appointed time, so apparent delay does not cancel God's purpose or authorize impatient manipulation. The contrast between the proud and the righteous turns on faithful trust amid unresolved violence. Living by faithfulness is not passive denial of injustice; it is steadfast reliance on God's word while the promised resolution has not yet appeared.
