Samson’s thirst and prayer Samson becomes severely thirsty and calls on Yahweh. He openly says the victory was something God gave, accomplished “by the hand of” God’s servant (Samson). He then raises a fear: after such a rescue, will he now die of thirst and end up at the mercy of the “uncircumcised,” meaning the Philistines he has just fought.
