Samson’s thirst and prayer Samson becomes severely thirsty and calls on Yahweh. He openly says the victory was something God gave, accomplished “by the hand of” God’s servant (Samson). He then raises a fear: after such a rescue, will he now die of thirst and end up at the mercy of the “uncircumcised,” meaning the Philistines he has just fought.
Water from Lehi and a commemorating name God responds by splitting open a hollow place at Lehi, and water comes out. After Samson drinks, his strength and life return—his spirit comes back and he revives. The text then explains that this event led to the place being called En-hakkore, connected with the idea of the caller/cry (using the same “called” idea as his prayer), and notes that the name was still used “to this day.”

What “uncircumcised” is doing in Samson’s prayer (v. 18).
