12:22-26Meaning
Anxiety cannot secure life Jesus addresses his disciples and forbids anxiety about basic needs: food for life and clothes for the body. He grounds this in a value claim: life and the body are more than their provisions. Ravens illustrate that creatures without farming or storage still receive food from God, and disciples are “more valuable.” He then argues from inability: worry cannot add measurable length to one’s life (pictured as adding a cubit), so anxiety is pointless for larger concerns.
