8:12-14Meaning
Wisdom’s close companions and moral stance Wisdom says she “dwells” with prudence, meaning she is at home with careful judgment rather than rashness. She can “find out” knowledge and discretion, presenting herself as the source that uncovers what is truly useful for choosing well. She then defines reverence for Yahweh as hating evil, and lists specific evils she rejects: pride, arrogance, harmful conduct, and twisted speech. Wisdom also claims counsel, sound knowledge, understanding, and strength as qualities she possesses and provides.
