Literary Context
Psalm 112 is a portrait of a certain kind of life: it describes the character, habits, and outcomes of a person who lives with deep respect for Yahweh and whose actions benefit others. The psalm moves in short statements that stack together, creating a profile more than a story. Verses 7–8 sit in the middle of that profile, focusing on emotional resilience under pressure. They connect inward posture (“heart” steadiness, trust) with outward experience (bad reports, adversaries), showing how the inner center explains the visible calm.
