Literary Context
Psalm 13 moves in a clear emotional arc: it begins with repeated questions about being forgotten and overwhelmed (vv. 1–2), then becomes a direct plea for God to look, answer, and prevent the enemy’s triumph (vv. 3–4). The final turn (vv. 5–6) shifts from pleading to confidence and celebration. Verse 6 is the closing step of that shift: it does not add new requests; it resolves the psalm with a vow of singing grounded in God’s good dealing. The ending functions as the speaker’s chosen response to God’s action.
