81:1-2Meaning
A loud, joyful summons with instruments The community is told to sing loudly to God and to shout with joy. God is addressed as the people’s “strength,” and also as the “God of Jacob,” linking praise to Israel’s shared identity. The call is not vague: they must raise a song and accompany it with tambourine and stringed instruments (lyre and harp), as part of the celebration.
