Unit 1 (v. 2a): Yahweh makes his saving action known
The verse begins by stating that Yahweh has made “his salvation” known. The idea is disclosure: what Yahweh has done is brought into the open so it can be recognized.
Unit 2 (v. 2b): Yahweh’s “righteousness” is shown publicly among the nations
The psalm adds that Yahweh has “openly shown” his “righteousness” in the sight of the nations. This presents Yahweh’s action as visible and credible to outsiders, not merely asserted within Israel.
Unit 3 (v. 3a): Yahweh remembers loyal love and faithfulness toward Israel
The next line explains the action as consistent with Yahweh’s past commitments: he has “remembered” his lovingkindness and faithfulness toward the house of Israel. “Remembered” here points to acting in line with an ongoing relationship, not simply recalling information.
Unit 4 (v. 3b): The whole earth sees the result
The unit ends with a worldwide horizon: “all the ends of the earth have seen” the salvation of Israel’s God. The point is that Yahweh’s deliverance has become widely observable, extending the significance beyond Israel’s borders.
