God told Solomon that if he would walk in God’s statutes, execute God’s judgments, and keep all God’s commandments, God would perform his word spoken to David (1 Kings 6:11-12). God also said he would dwell among the children of Israel and not forsake his people (1 Kings 6:13).
11The word of Yahweh came to Solomon, saying,
12Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
13I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
