Genesis
Genesis says God sent the man out to work the ground and prevented access to the tree of life Genesis 3:22–24. Cherubim and a flaming sword are placed to guard the way to the tree of life.
22Yahweh God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he put forth his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever..."
23Therefore Yahweh God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed Cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
