Micah / Question
Question source
Micah
Micah announces that Samaria will be made “a heap in the open country” and her stones poured into the valley. He connects this ruin to Israel’s rebellion and to the way idolatry and illicit gain shaped the city’s life (Micah 1:6–7).
6Therefore I will make Samaria as a heap of the field, [and] as places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down the stones of it into the valley, and I will uncover the foundations of it.
7All her engraved images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate; for of the hire of a prostitute has she gathered them, and to the hire of a prostitute shall they return.
