Two paths, each carried forward
Four parallel lines address two kinds of people in matching pairs. The unjust are told to keep doing injustice, and the “filthy” are told to remain so; likewise, the righteous are told to keep doing what is right, and the holy are told to keep living in holiness. The repeated “still” (still) underscores continuation: the sayings portray a moment when people’s present direction persists and becomes more firmly expressed.
Unit 3 (vv. 10–11 together): Urgency plus moral fixing
Taken together, the nearness of the time (v. 10) frames v. 11 as an urgent, sobering effect of proximity: as the decisive moment approaches, people’s choices show their settled orientation. The text presents both outcomes side by side, without pausing to explain why some continue one way and others another, but emphasizing that the response to the revealed words matters now.
