The passage blends throne-room and temple imagery, and it speaks in vivid pictures (tenting, shepherding, springs, tears). That combination naturally raises questions about how directly these images map onto a “place,” a “schedule,” or physical conditions, versus how much they function as symbolic ways to communicate safety, honor, and sustained life.
The text clearly links final safety to God’s throne and to the Lamb’s central role: the Lamb is not peripheral but “in the midst of the throne,” and his shepherding is the stated reason the crowd’s suffering is decisively ended. It also contributes a concrete portrait of reversal: what threatened them before (lack, exposure, grief) is said to be permanently removed (“never…any more”).
