Literary Context
This line concludes the final of Zechariah’s night visions (Zech 1–6), specifically the vision of four chariots sent out from between two mountains (6:1–8). The earlier verses describe different teams going in different directions, with the north receiving special attention as the black horses go there, and others following (6:6–7). Verse 8 then shifts from description to direct address: the speaker summons Zechariah and interprets the northbound movement as bringing rest to the Lord’s spirit “in the north country,” closing the vision with a clear stated effect.
