Instruments and personnel set in place Hezekiah stations the Levites in Yahweh’s house with cymbals, harps, and psalteries. The arrangement is said to follow a command tied to David and to Gad and Nathan, and the text adds that this command ultimately came from Yahweh through his prophets. The Levites stand with “David’s instruments,” while the priests stand with trumpets.
Music begins and continues with the burnt offering Hezekiah orders the burnt offering to be offered on the altar. At the moment the burnt offering starts, “the song of Yahweh” also starts, with trumpets and the instruments associated with David.
