Ahaziah flees, is struck, and reaches Megiddo Ahaziah, king of Judah, sees what has happened and escapes along a route identified as “the way of the garden-house.” Jehu pursues and commands his men to strike Ahaziah even while he is in his chariot. The blow lands at a specific point on the way—“the ascent of Gur” near Ibleam—yet Ahaziah continues fleeing until he reaches Megiddo, where he dies.
