Daily repetition versus a finished act Verse 11 sets the scene: every priest “stands” each day, serving and repeatedly offering the same sacrifices. The key point is their inability: these sacrifices “can never take away sins.” Verse 12 contrasts Christ: after offering “one sacrifice for sins” for all time (all time), he “sat down” at God’s right hand, presenting the offering as complete rather than endlessly repeated.
