vv. 19–21 — Basis for confidence and access
The “therefore” introduces practical implications: the group has boldness to enter the holy places by blood (Hebrews 10:19). Access is a “new and living way” opened “through the veil,” identified with his flesh (Hebrews 10:20). They also have a “great priest over the house of God” (Hebrews 10:21).
v. 22 — First exhortation: draw near
They are urged to draw near with a true heart and full assurance, with cleansing imagery: hearts sprinkled and bodies washed (Hebrews 10:22).
v. 23 — Second exhortation: hold fast
They must hold fast the confession of hope without wavering, grounded in the reliability of the one who promised (Hebrews 10:23).
vv. 24–25 — Third exhortation: mutual provocation and presence
They should consider how to stir one another to love and good works, not neglecting assembly but encouraging one another as the Day draws near (Hebrews 10:24–25).
