Literary Context
Hosea 14 closes the book with a call to return and with God’s response. Just before this verse, the people are urged to come back with words, asking God to take away wrongdoing and accept what they say (Hosea 14:1–3). Verse 4 reads like the direct reply to that request: God does not simply accept an apology but describes what he will do to repair the underlying condition. The verse also prepares for the images that follow in 14:5–8, where renewed life and stability are described as the outworking of this restored relationship.
