Textually, Isaiah 6:8 contributes a compact picture of prophetic commissioning: divine initiative (the Lord speaks), divine authority (the Lord sends), and human response (Isaiah volunteers and asks to be commissioned). The verse also links “sending” and “going”: the mission is not only authorized from above but carried out as representation (“for us”).
