Verses 6–9 begin a brief “watched it happen” story: the speaker positions himself as an observer, then introduces a representative young man and traces the first steps that lead him toward danger. Historical Context
The imagery assumes an Israelite town setting with homes facing streets and openings that allow someone inside to watch outside. A “lattice” suggests a screened or slatted window opening that offers a view while maintaining privacy.
