The reasons given are not abstract: God covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and makes grass grow even on the mountains (v.8). The same God is said to give food to cattle (v.9). Likewise, “ravens” may be chosen as an example of wild, un-managed creatures, or as an especially needy or overlooked kind of creature. The psalm uses poetic description. Phrases like “prepares rain” and “when they call” can be read as vivid personification, or as a more literal depiction of God responding to creaturely need. The Hebrew poetry is making theological claims through observable realities, but it does not spell out the mechanics.
Explicitly, the text claims that thankful singing is a fitting response to Yahweh (v.7) and that God is responsible for life-sustaining conditions: clouds, rain for the earth, and grass growth (v.8), and food for cattle (v.9). As a theological inference grounded in that sequence, the passage portrays God as the ongoing sustainer of creation, whose care can be recognized in repeatable, everyday patterns rather than only in rare events.
