Current coverage includes 1 John, Romans.
Romans presents a comprehensive diagnosis: Gentiles and Jews alike are under sin (Rom.1:18; Rom.3:9–20). Paul describes how idolatry, moral failure, and inward corruption leave all people in need of God’s remedy.
Different readers stress different levels of this teaching: some highlight systemic/cultural consequences (Rom.1:18–32); others focus on theological anthropology (Rom.3:23; Rom.5:12). All agree Paul’s point is universal need, not mere moralizing.
10If we say that we haven`t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
4Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
8He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
16If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don`t say that concerning this he should make a request.
18We know that whoever is born of God doesn`t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn`t touch him.
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness,
21Because, knowing God, they didn`t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
32who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with those who practice them.
23for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
12Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.
