55:6Meaning
Seek and call—because the opportunity is present The audience is commanded to look for Yahweh and to call out to him. The motivation is time-sensitive: there is a period when he “may be found” and is “near,” implying that delay could mean missing that opportunity.
Unit 2 (v. 7a): Turn from a whole pattern—actions and inner plans
Two kinds of people are addressed in parallel: “the wicked” and “the unrighteous man.” Each is told to abandon something: the wicked must leave his path of life, and the unrighteous person must leave his thoughts—his plans, intentions, and inner reasoning.
Unit 3 (v. 7b): Return to Yahweh—expect mercy and plentiful pardon
The turning is not only away from old patterns but toward Yahweh: “let him return to Yahweh.” The expected response is mercy, and the final line intensifies the promise by saying God will pardon in abundance, not sparingly.
