Watch your heart; the day can arrive suddenly Jesus tells them to be careful about themselves: the risk is that their “hearts” become weighed down. He names three pressures that can deaden alertness—wild partying, drunkenness, and the worries of ordinary life. If that happens, “that day” can hit them unexpectedly. He explains the suddenness with an image: it will be like a trap snapping shut on everyone who lives across the earth.
