24:23-25Meaning
Don’t accept location-based “here/there” claims Jesus anticipates a time when people will point to a specific place and say, “Here is the Christ,” or “There he is,” and he commands, “don’t believe it.” His reason is that “false Christs” and “false prophets” will arise and perform impressive “signs and wonders,” with the intent to mislead—even those who seem least likely to be fooled. Jesus adds that he is warning them ahead of time so they are not caught off guard when these claims surface.
