The psalm fits naturally in a setting where a king or high official has a “house” (palace/administration) and oversees justice in a capital city. In such societies, the ruler’s household included advisors, servants, and court personnel, and “standing before” the ruler described access, employment, and influence. Courts were often held in the morning, so “morning by morning” can evoke routine governance rather than a one-time purge. “Yahweh’s city” points to Jerusalem as a religious-political center where public order and worship life were closely linked.
