Psalm 26 reads as a self-defense and appeal to God: the speaker asks God to examine him, distances himself from violent or deceptive people, and aligns himself with God’s house and worship. The last two verses function as a closing vow and summary of the whole psalm’s direction. The logic moves from “this is how I will live” to “therefore I ask for help,” and then to “here is the outcome I claim” and “here is how I will respond publicly.” These lines echo the earlier themes of integrity, deliverance, and worship, but now as a final, steady resolve.
