25:30Meaning
A roar from a holy height aimed at the whole earth Jeremiah is commanded to speak “against them” with the words that follow. Yahweh is pictured as roaring from “on high” and from his “holy habitation,” projecting authority and distance. The roar turns “against his fold” (his own flock/realm), and the sound becomes like the shout of people treading grapes, a noisy image of crushing action. The target explicitly expands to “all the inhabitants of the earth.”
