Christians are to be submissive to rulers, obedient, and gentle, avoiding quarrels and speaking evil of no one.
13Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord`s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
14or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to those who do well.
15For so is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
17Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
18Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
19For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
20For what glory is it, if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
1In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don`t obey the Word, they may be gained by the behavior of their wives without a word;
2seeing your pure behavior in fear.
7You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; not cutting off your prayers.
5Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
19If it please the king, let there go forth a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it not be altered, that Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate to another who is better than she.
20When the king`s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his kingdom (for it is great), all the wives will give to their husbands honor, both to great and small.
21The saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did according to the word of Memucan:
22for he sent letters into all the king`s provinces, into every province according to the writing of it, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and should speak according to the language of his people.
10Esther had not made known her people nor her relatives; for Mordecai had charged her that she should not make it known.
20Esther had not yet made known her relatives nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
2All the king`s servants, who were in the king`s gate, bowed down, and did reverence to Haman; for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai didn`t bow down, nor did him reverence.
3Then the king`s servants, who were in the king`s gate, said to Mordecai, Why disobey you the king`s commandment?
4Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily to him, and he didn`t listen to them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai`s matters would stand: for he had told those who he was a Jew.
16Go, gather together all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast you for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast in like manner; and so will I go in to the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
14So the posts who rode on swift steeds that were used in the king`s service went out, being hurried and pressed on by the king`s commandment; and the decree was given out in Shushan the palace.
15Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal clothing of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a robe of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan shouted and was glad.
16The Jews had light and gladness, and joy and honor.
17In every province, and in every city, wherever the king`s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had gladness and joy, a feast and a good day. Many from among the peoples of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews was fallen on them.
1Therefore I beg you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
2Don`t be fashioned according to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
1Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who be are ordained by God.
14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
3For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same,
8Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
10not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.
9Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;
1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to every good work,
1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to every good work,
2to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all gentleness toward all men.
