Salvation comes from God’s grace, revealed in Christ, bringing redemption and shaping a life of good works.
1That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life
2(and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us);
5This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
24Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
25This is the promise which he promised us, the eternal life.
10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
9By this was God`s love revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
11The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn`t have God`s Son doesn`t have the life.
5and that our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.
6You became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
8For from you has sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith toward God has gone forth; so that we need not to say anything.
13For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.
2but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the gospel of God in much conflict.
2and sent Timothy, our brother and God`s servant in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;
11according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
15The saying is faithful, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;
16Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, And received up in glory.
12Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life, whereunto you were called, and confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
10but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
11For this, I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
8Don`t be ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner; but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God,
8Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel,
9in which I suffer hardship to bonds, as a criminal. But God`s word isn`t bound.
17But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
2preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.
34Peter opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that God doesn`t show favoritism,
35but in every nation he who fears him, and works righteousness, is acceptable to him.
36The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all):
37that spoken word you yourselves know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.
39We are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.
40God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,
41not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
42He charged us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.
43All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins."
16Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, "Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.
17The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them forth out of it.
18For about the time of forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.
19When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance, for about four hundred and fifty years.
20After these things he gave them judges until Samuel, the prophet.
21Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul, the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, `I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.`
23From this man`s seed, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,
24before his coming, when John had first preached the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25As John was fulfilling his course, he said, `What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, there comes one after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.`
26Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent forth to you.
27For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn`t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.
28Though they found no cause of death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.
29When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.
30But God raised him from the dead,
31and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
32We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,
33that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, `You are my Son. Today I have become your father.`
34"Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: `I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.`
35Therefore he says also in another psalm, `You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.`
36For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.
37But he whom God raised up saw no decay.
38Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins,
39and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:
41`Behold, you scoffers, and wonder, and perish; For I work a work in your days, A work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.`"
30and brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your house."
32They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.
33He took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.
34He brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his house, having believed in God.
22Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus, and said, "You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.
23For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: `TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.` What therefore you worship in ignorance, this I announce to you.
24The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands,
25neither is he served by men`s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things.
26He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation,
27that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
28`For in him we live, and move, and have our being.` As some of your own poets have said, `For we are also his offspring.`
29Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and device of man.
30The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all men everywhere should repent,
31because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead."
22"You men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,
23him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
24whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25For David says concerning him, `I saw the Lord always before my face, For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;
27Because you will not leave my soul in Hades, Neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.`
29"Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.
32This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear.
34For David didn`t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, `The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit by my right hand,
35Until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet."`
36"Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what will we do?"
38Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself."
40With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation!"
41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
23When they had appointed him a day, they came to him into his lodging in great number. He explained to them, testifying about the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.
24Some believed the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.
25When they didn`t agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had spoken one word, "The Holy Spirit spoke well through Isaiah, the prophet, to our fathers,
26saying, `Go to this people, and say, In hearing, you will hear, and will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, and will in no way perceive.
27For this people`s heart has grown callous. Their ears are dull of hearing. Their eyes they have closed. Lest they should see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their heart, Would turn again, And I would heal them.`
28"Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles. They will also hear."
29When he had said these words, the Jews departed, having a great dispute among themselves.
30Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who went in to him,
31preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hinderance.
19Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
20and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,
21whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, whereof God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from ancient times.
4Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.
5Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.
6The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
7For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
8There was great joy in that city.
23if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, was made a servant.
27to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;
28whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;
5because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6which has come to you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;
6As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him,
7rooted and built up in him, and established in your faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
3praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;
4that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.
5Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
6Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
13in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, -- in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
8for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9not of works, that no one would boast.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
6that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,
20But you did not learn Christ that way;
21if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
15and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
19On my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
11But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.
12For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.
15But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother`s womb, and called me through his grace,
16to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn`t immediately confer with flesh and blood,
6I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel;
7and there isn`t another gospel. Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any gospel other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
9As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any gospel other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
5to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
14But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
10The angel said to them, "Don`t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.
11For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
18Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,
18"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, Because he anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to the captives, Recovering of sight to the blind, To deliver those who are crushed,
19And to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
22Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
1It happened soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God, and with him the twelve,
12Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the gospel;
16The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;
27Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the gospel;
5for your fellowship in furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now;
7It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.
22But you know the proof of him, that, as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.
15You yourselves also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only.
3Yes, I beg you also, true yoke-fellow, help these women, for they labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God`s elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
2in hope of eternal life, which God, who can`t lie, promised before eternal times;
3but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God, our Savior;
4to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God, the Father, and the Lord, Jesus Christ, our Savior.
11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
12instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world;
13looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ;
14who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
4But when the kindness of God, our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared,
5not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
6which he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ, our Savior;
7that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;
